In the Grama Panchayat election held in 2009, those Catholic women who had contested and won the elections as the members of their respective Grama Panchayat within Udupi Varado were honoured on Saturday, 31 July 2010 in the Don Bosco Hall, Udupi by the Women Council of the Udupi Varado.
